Typically hanger bolts have a lag screw thread that allows it to fasten into the wooden leg, but this one is completely machined thread which makes it more of a challenge. I was going to purchase the proper hanger bolt separately but it didn't mesh with the other pieces so I had to make do with this substandard hanger bolt and wood glue.
